Garry Ridge Shares Insights on Helping People Win At Work”

Author Garry Ridge, is currently the President/CEO of WD-40 Company. Nearly twenty years ago, Ridge went back to the books and completed his Masters in Leadership from the University of San Diego. It was there that he met Ken Blanchard, the management expert and co-author of The One Minute Manager, the management bestseller that has sold over 13 million copies worldwide. So taken was Ridge with Blanchard’s teachings, that together they co-authored the well-received book, Helping People Win at Work. In the book, Ridge reveals how WD-40 has used Blanchard’s techniques to “Partner for Performance” with employees, and achieve the highest levels of employee engagement and commitment.

A native of Australia, Ridge has served as national Vice President of the Australian Institute and the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association. In addition to his work with WD-40, Ridge teaches leadership, talent management, and succession planning at the University of San Diego’s Executive Leadership program and has been named Director of the Year for Enhancement of Economic Value by the Corporate Directors Forum.

Scott Blanchard is Executive Vice President of Client Solutions for The Ken Blanchard Companies®, the company co-founded by his father, best-selling business author Ken Blanchard.

Having led major training interventions at numerous Fortune 500 companies, Scott has worked with a wide variety of senior executives in leading large initiatives for international corporations. An experienced trainer and organizational consultant, he has extensive experience in all of the Blanchard® key practice areas, most notably corporate coaching, having co-created the coaching function within the company.

He was educated at Cornell University and received his master’s degree in organizational development from American University in Washington, D.C.

J.D. Hayworth Brings an Insider Perspective Washington, D.C.

Former U.S. Congressman turned Broadcaster J.D. Hayworth represented Arizona for six terms in the United States Congress (1995-2007) and is the only Arizonan in history to have been a member of the powerful Ways & Means Committee, on which he served for a decade.

Hayworth was part of the “Class of ‘94,” which gave Republicans their first House majority in forty years and the first of his lifetime, since he was elected at age 36. He served in the GOP Leadership during his freshman term and as a Deputy Whip for ten years. He also served three terms as Chairman of the “Conservative Opportunity Society,” founded by Jack Kemp and Newt Gingrich. J.D.’s broadcasting career led him to collaborate on the communications strategy within the House Republican Conference, and made him a frequent guest on national radio and television broadcasts during his days in Congress.

He returned to broadcasting when he returned to private life; he now is a frequent guest host for the nationally syndicated programs hosted by Mike Huckabee, Michael Savage, and Mark Levin. He is also the co-host of the popular sports talk morning program, “Hacksaw & Hayworth” on San Diego’s “Mighty 1090.”

J.D. is a Cum Laude Graduate of North Carolina State University. He attended N.C. State on a football scholarship, recruited by legendary Coach Lou Holtz. This informative, humorous and motivational session that mixes together business, politics, policy, and maybe even a little sports.
